Moving forward with a clearer focus: a new path for our marketing team

Jul 22, 2025 • 5 min read

With maturity comes clarity. And with it – the power of focus.

The beginnings of Optiweb, when I was 19, were divided into two parts: marketing (SEO – Search Engine Optimization) and website development. If we wanted to do one well, we also needed the other. Work continued quite organically, and we kept growing, becoming more skilled and competent in both areas. Over the years, the balance shifted, but the marketing department always accounted for at least one third of Optiweb’s business. This division suited me for a long time, because it brought a sense of security. When one area struggled, the other often thrived. But in recent years, I started to feel that this dual structure was limiting us – that we were spreading our focus instead of deepening it.

After the pandemic, there were about 70 of us. Growth stopped – and we started searching for focus. We deliberately chose specific areas (eCommerce, PIM, GA4…), industries, and types of clients. More often, we said “no.” And results went up. The power of focus was obvious.

However, for the bigger decisions in life, one often needs a bit more time, courage, and sometimes an extra push. Something that finally confirms it’s time for a change.

And at the beginning of 2025, I received a few strong indicators that the time had come. Time for Optiweb to focus even more. More than ever before. At the same time, we had our best financial results ever in 2024 – in both departments (marketing and development) – and also the best NPS (Net Promoter Score) from our clients. They say the best time to make a big decision is when you're at your peak. And so, the decision was made.

Optiweb’s marketing department had to find its own path

The decision to separate the marketing department is based on my vision for Optiweb and my view of the market and the digital industry as a whole. My strategy is focused on where I currently see the most potential for growth – in development. At the same time, I wanted marketing to continue in an environment where it could develop its role and contribution even more.

The decision-making process and the search for a buyer were demanding. Undoubtedly the biggest challenge of my life. Mostly because I constantly had people, clients, Optiweb, and myself in mind. As always, I consulted with people I trust, but the execution was up to me. And as always, I did many things along the way that I would do differently now.

During the transition, I also gained a concrete insight into the market and received confirmation that we’re doing really well. I’m convinced we are among the best. Which, in a way, made the search even harder.

But we did it. I found a buyer with a similar culture, two founders with a wealth of technical knowledge from the industry, a wide network, and top-tier clients. I’m proud that we retained all the key people and clients, and I believe we found the most optimal solution for continuing the story I’ve been writing for over 16 years.

Up to this point, I felt a huge responsibility to everyone involved. Now, it’s time to let go and trust the step we've taken.

Focus on advanced digital solutions

The “upgraded” Optiweb is now an even more agile company, solving complex digital challenges with strategic and technical expertise to help deliver optimal solutions. And now I can say with even greater confidence that we are driven by a clear vision: to be the best at what we do. Focused.

To all team members who were part of this story and are now moving on – thank you from the heart for your contribution and dedication. I look forward to everything you’ll create in your new journey. Thank you for the trust, and congratulations to the new owners – I wish you nothing but the best! Of course, our collaboration continues, as we’ll keep helping our clients reach and exceed their goals.

Here’s to new victories! 💪

P.S. To mark this milestone, we've also refreshed our website, built on headless technology. We invite you to check it out! :)
